Custom Printed Dry-Erase Whiteboards

Rigid wall-mounted whiteboards with your layout, grid, or branding printed underneath a wipeable surface. Built on aluminium composite, not flimsy magnetic sheets.

These are proper whiteboards not the thin magnetic sheets you stick to a filing cabinet. We print your custom layout onto vinyl, apply it to an aluminium composite panel then cover the whole thing with a dry-erase laminate. The result is a rigid board that mounts flat on the wall, writes cleanly, and wipes off without ghosting.

Whatever you need printed stays protected under the wipeable surface: grids, calendars, tables, company branding, pitch diagrams, booking columns. You design the structure, we print it, and you fill in the blanks with a marker.

What they're used for

We've made these for all sorts of workplaces. Hotels use them for events boards showing what's booked in each function room. A window cleaning company uses one to schedule the week ahead and assign crews. Sports coaches use them with pitch or court diagrams printed on so they can draw up plays and wipe them clean between sessions. We use them here ourselves for project tracking and internal notes.

They work well anywhere you need a reusable writing surface with a permanent structure underneath: shift rotas, production schedules, KPI boards, warehouse picking zones, training rooms, gym class timetables.

Standard sizes

We offer these in standard sizes that cover most requirements:

  • A3
  • A2
  • A1
  • A0
  • 1220 x 600mm
  • 40 x 30 inches
  • 60 x 40 inches

Custom sizes and shapes are available on request, but the standard sizes keep costs down and turnaround quick.

The mistake most people make

People overestimate how much they can fit on a whiteboard. When you're sketching out a layout on paper, you imagine neat little handwriting filling rows of information. In practice, someone standing at a whiteboard with a marker writes much larger than they would sitting at a desk with a pen. The tip of a marker is wider than a biro, and handwriting gets looser when you're writing at arm's length on a vertical surface.

We usually suggest leaving 20 to 30mm between lines as a minimum for comfortable writing. If you're planning a board with 30 rows of information, you might need to go bigger than you think, or reduce the number of rows. Send us your layout and we can tell you whether it'll work at the size you're considering. Even a quick stetch on an A4 page will do to get the ball rolling.

How long do they last?

The board itself lasts years. The printed design is protected under the dry-erase layer, so it won't fade or wear off. The aluminium composite backing won't warp or bow.

The wipeable surface will eventually show ghosting like any whiteboard. How quickly depends on how you treat it. If you use proper dry-erase markers, clean it regularly with whiteboard cleaner and avoid leaving writing on for weeks at a time, it'll stay clear for a long time. What kills the surface is harsh cleaning products, furniture polish, or abrasive cloths. These gradually wear away the coating that lets the ink wipe off cleanly.

If you're putting it somewhere with direct sunlight, the board is fine, but marker ink fades in UV light. Write something on a sun-facing board and leave it for months, and you'll get ghosting from the faded ink. That's the marker, not the board.

Mounting

We can add pre-drilled holes for wall fixing, or supply hanging brackets that attach to the back. What fixings you need depends on your wall. A small board on a solid wall is straightforward. A large board on plasterboard needs proper fixings into studs or appropriate anchors.

We can't tell you what will work in your building because every wall is different. Defer to your facilities team or whoever handles maintenance in your office. We can supply the board ready to hang; they can figure out the best way to get it on the wall.

Artwork

Keep as much of the board white as possible. The markers you'll use are transparent ink, so writing over a dark printed area just gives you a darker version of the ink. Green marker on a black background is unreadable. If you need to highlight columns or sections, use a very light grey rather than a solid colour.

Supply your layout as a PDF or high-resolution image file. If you're not sure how to set it up, send us a sketch or a rough version and we can advise on spacing and readability before you commit.

Turnaround

Around 5 working days. We cut the aluminium composite, round off all the edges, print the vinyl, let it cure for 24 hours, then apply the dry-erase laminate. Rushing it risks the laminate not bonding properly, so we don't cut corners on drying time. BUT, if you are under time pressure then pick up the phone and we can have a chat about it.
