Corriboard Signage
Lightweight, waterproof, and affordable. The go-to choice for election signs, festivals, building sites, and anything temporary that needs to go up fast and do its job.
Corriboard is a lightweight corrugated plastic board used for temporary signage all over Ireland. You'll recognise it from election posters, festival directions, and "For Sale" signs in front gardens.
It's made from polypropylene, with two flat outer layers connected by a fluted internal structure. That's what gives it strength while keeping it light and easy to handle. It's also fully recyclable.
What Corriboard is good for
Think of Corriboard as entry-level outdoor signage. It's waterproof, affordable, and because it's lightweight, it's easy to transport in bulk and quick to put up. We print with water-resistant inks on our flatbed printer, so there's no worry about colours running in the rain. We can print on both sides if needed, and it can be cut into basic shapes, think triangles, rounded corner squares, but nothing too complex.

We've printed Corriboard signs for all sorts: large roadside signs announcing a village summer festival, public meeting notices for politicians, Christmas closure signs for shops, health and safety warnings on building sites, long boards cable-tied to hotel railings promoting a New Year's Day swim, car park and directional signage for music festivals, distance markers for fun runs, and congratulations banners for GAA teams after a local win.
Outdoors, expect 12-18 months before it starts to fade or degrade. Indoors, it'll last much longer.
What Corriboard not great at
Corriboard is lightweight, which is a strength and a weakness. It handles rain fine, but wind can knock it about. If it's going to be outside long-term, it needs proper backing or a sturdy frame with plenty of support.
It's also not a premium-looking material. You can see the corrugated lines on the surface, and most people associate it with election posters. That's not a problem for a parking sign at a rugby match, but it's not what you want in a hotel lobby.
The most common mistake we see is people trying to use Corriboard where it doesn't belong: as a permanent sign above a shop door, or long-term wayfinding in a car park. For those jobs, Foamex or Dibond are better options.
One other thing: the edges can be sharp after cutting. If your sign is going somewhere at low level where people might brush against it, let us know and we can round the corners or set them in.
Choosing the right option
When customers ask about Corriboard, we usually ask three questions: What's it for? How long will it be up? Where will it be?
A "Closed for Christmas" sign cable-tied to a gate for two weeks? Corriboard is ideal.
A directional sign in a hotel lobby for a conference? We'd suggest Foamex because it looks better.
A sign behind a pizza shop directing deliveries that'll be up for years? Dibond. It'll outlast several Corriboard replacements.
Running an event and want something recyclable afterwards? 10mm honeycomb board can go in recycling when you're done.
Thickness options
We supply Corriboard in 5mm, and 10mm. We can order in 4mm thickness if needed.
5mm is the standard and works for most jobs. 4mm is fine for election signage ordered in bulk where it's only up for a few weeks and savings matter. 10mm has more structure to it, so it's better for larger sheets on frames, like advertising a match on the road into town, or header boards for festival bars.
Sizes and fixing
We can print up to 8ft x 4ft (2440mm x 1220mm) in a single piece, full colour on one or both sides.
For fixing, we can add eyelets for cable ties or rope, or supply with double-sided tape for internal walls. You can screw it into timber if you use a washer or large screw head. Just match the fixing to the conditions: a couple of cable ties won't hold a large board in high wind.
Artwork note
Dark colours can crack slightly along cut edges because the material flexes during cutting. A white border helps with this and often improves the look anyway by adding contrast.
